I’ve always though that all in all, Mos Def was a pretty cool dude, and this proves it for me.
Personal Highlights:
- Mandatory community service for those making over $500k per year. A lot of people throw money at things, but that’s not community service. Why? Because you get a tax break and it doesn’t always require effort.
- Voting weekends! This is something that I and people I know have been talking about. In many countries election day is a holiday, no one works. We need to make it so easy to find a time to vote that people won’t have an excuse not to, and if at that time you still don’t vote and use any variation of the following excuses: “I had to work” “I still don’t care” or “I didn’t feel like it,” yet complain when shit goes wrong or some asshole got elected in your district because only retirees voted, you will be deported. [I added that last part]
- Good Jediness! No idea what he was talking about, but it amused me.
